The Cayo District is back to normal, as Iris left them unscathed. In fact, many people from the coast were evacuated here for shelter because of its high mountaneous terrain. Most resorts were fully functional during the storm and catered to many people.
This western part of the country experienced little winds and moderate rainfall. There are no reports of any serious injuries or damages. Water, and telephone services were available throughout the duration of Iris's visit. A power outage was reported during the storm but electricity was restored the very same night. Resorts in different areas of Cayo say that they are open for business and extend a warm welcome to all visitors.
