Hurricane Iris visited us on October 8th. No prior reservations were made and she was accompanied by 145 miles-per-hour winds. We are currently cleaning up and making repairs.

Renovations are progressing and we expect to reopen the Inn in mid-December. Currently, we have limited availability in our two seafront garden suites. One is a two room and the other a one room flat with kitchenette. These spaces will be available until the 20th of November and again from the 4th through 15th December.

The resort will be closed from the 20th November through 4th December.

During our renovation stage, we will be offering a lodging discount with single occupancy at US $35/ night and double occupancy at US $50/night. This includes continental breakfast and daily maid service.

From the States, we may be contacted at telephone number 011-501-6-37017.

Green Parrot - 10/29/01
The damage was mostly on the south side of the property, from the restaurant to the small cabanas. The large house cabanas suffered less damage and the crew is currently giving them a face lift, which should be completed before Thanksgiving of this year.
Our apartment was spared, just some water damage that will be cleaned up in no time.
However, now we have a small, but very cute restaurant set up till we have the new and improved restaurant ready, which we hope to open by late December or early January.
Aside from that, we hope to have power soon so that I can work our e-mail daily vs. weekly and be able to get back with people in a timely manner, we hope to have power by next week.
We are both doing well, working very hard and looking forward to having life back in order soon. greenparot@btl.net

Buddy and I are fine, Maya Breeze Inn is okay!! Maya Breeze Inn sustained the least damage from the high winds. We are in the process along with everyone else cleaning up debris and down trees and our beach. There will be some cleaning up of our cabins although they didn't sustain much damage. We have elected to wait until mid-November before opening back up. We look forward to your visit and will make every effort possible to make your vacation to Belize one you won't forget! btolson@btl.net

Nautical Inn will be able to re open Nov 1. We have made repairs, have water, and 24 hour electricity.

- 10/11/01
"Getting our generator running, which we expect to be sometime this weekend, will help us significantly in our clean-up efforts. We are hoping to be up and running by mid-November. In the meantime, we will need to cancel reservations with the options of crediting the paid monies to a trip/stay within the next year or giving a full refund." - nautical@btl.net

Soulshine Resort & Spa - 10/22/2001
Soulshine Resort & Spa incurred some rebuildable damages from Iris' visit, but repairs started immediately and are well underway. We realize that Mother Nature has a wonderful ability to recover very nicely from this type of visitor, and we will follow her example and lead. It appears that the true beauty of our flora and fauna will be back as beautiful as ever in a short time, as well as all business operations. So we will be reopening as of December 15th. We also wish to thank each of our friends and previous clients for their kind concern and comfort. We look forward to seeing you very soon. spa@soulshine.com

Bahia Laguna - 10/17/2001
The owners are fine. Our thatch did not fare as well but we were in the process of constructing a bigger, sturdier structure, which was not affected at all. In fact, we took shelter in it. We hope to continue construction in a few weeks. bahialaguna@btl.net

Our dive boat Auriga, 12 rooms and the ten sculpted dome cabanas on the beach are all fine. The majority of our staff is back and is helping us clean up after fallen trees and prepare for opening, which we believe will be before Thanksgiving." - rupel@btl.net

Serenity - 10/11/01
"We expect to be cleared within ten days. Our cabanas and our main building are intact. We sustained very little structural damage because of our concrete walls and roof (on the main building). Our efforts are being concentrated on cleaning up the property: removing fallen trees, sweeping out mud and water. " - serenity@btl.net
